What Homeowners Ask
Wasatch County Remodeling and Permit Questions
Do you build custom homes in Heber City and Midway?
Yes. We build custom homes in Heber City, Midway, and the rest of the Heber Valley. The other eight services on this page are offered there too.
Who issues building permits in Wasatch County?
The Wasatch County Building Department reviews applications for unincorporated Wasatch County. In Wallsburg, the town issues an approval letter first, and the building permit application then goes to the county. Hideout, Heber City, Interlaken, Midway, Charleston, Daniel, and Independence each issue their own building permits. We confirm which office issues the permit for your address before the application is prepared.
Does Wasatch County require fire sprinklers in homes?
Yes, when any of four conditions in Wasatch County Ordinance 17-04 applies. The first two are a home in an area without a public water distribution system with fire hydrants and a home whose only fire apparatus access road is steeper than 10 percent for more than 500 continuous feet. The other two are a total floor area over 10,000 square feet and a floor area double the average for the subdivision's unsprinklered homes that are no larger than 10,000 square feet. In rural and suburban areas without an adequate and reliable water supply, the ordinance also authorizes the building official to apply NFPA 1142 or the International Wildland-Urban Interface Code. When a condition applies, the permit application must include sprinkler plans and calculations.
